Full time • Permanent • 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 07.00 – 15.30
The role: An opportunity has arisen for a Groundsperson to join our in-house Estates team who oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the School’s historic estate. The School has extensive high-class facilities including:
- Football / rugby pitches.
- 8 cricket squares.
- 9-holes (3690 yard) golf course.
- 2 AstroTurf pitches.
- 12 tennis courts.
- 400m athletics track.
Primarily producing facilities for the pupils, previous years have seen the school play host to AFL Teams, NFL teams, Professional Women’s and Men’s Football and Rugby teams, plus ECB cricket events.
The skills: Candidate should hold a minimum NVQ Level 2 Sports Turf qualification (or equivalent), having working knowledge in at least one of. natural sports pitches, cricket or golf maintenance and the ability to operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment. Applicants should be enthusiastic, willing to work outdoors in all weathers and able to work unsupervised.

The environment: Harrow School is one of the world’s most famous schools. It is located on a 300-acre estate encompassing much of Harrow on the Hill in north west London. Around 835 boys aged 13 to 18, who come from all over Britain and across the world, live in the School’s 12 boarding Houses, and there are about 120 academic staff and over 450 support staff.
