Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Course Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the golf course, ensuring it meets the highest standards of playability and aesthetics.
- Execute maintenance plans, including turf care, irrigation, fertilization programs,bunkers and pest control, to preserve the course in pristine condition.
- Supervise and lead the team, providing guidance and support in their tasks and fostering apositive work environment.
- Assist in developing and implementing long-term maintenance strategies, consideringfactors such as seasonal variations and budgetary constraints.
- Support the Course Manager in the preparation and executing major golfing events,tournaments, and outings. National, International or Tour event course preparation would be beneficial.
- Maintain up-to-date records of maintenance activities, including equipment usage, chemicalapplications, and inventory management.
- Stay informed about advancements in golf course maintenance techniques and equipment, implementing innovative practices when appropriate.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues promptly,ensuring minimal disruption to play, particularly our course bunkers.
Requirements:
- Minimum NVQ3 or similar, PA1, PA2 & PA6.
- Currently a Deputy or Deputised for Course Manager within the last 12 months.
- Desirable, undergoing NVQ4 and/or aspiring to a degree and any Chainsaw qualifications.
- Proven strong computer, health & safety and leadership skills with the ability to motivate andmanage an established team effectively.
- Excellent knowledge of golf course maintenance practices, including turfgrass species,pest management, and agronomy principles.
- Proven experience in golf course maintenance, with specific expertise in fine turf care,irrigation systems, and general greenkeeping.
- Proficiency in setting up, operating and maintaining golf course machinery and equipment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering the highest qualitystandards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships withcolleagues, Club members, and visitors.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the golf course.
