Skilled Groundskeeper – Birmingham City Football Club


Birmingham City Football Club is setting off on a journey to uplift its facilities across the club and sees its pitches as pivotal to increasing standards. The club has set out clear investment plans covering pitches, machinery and staffing and is now looking for established and aspiring grounds staff to come on this journey with us.

Location: Wast Hills Training Ground, Elite Performance and Innovation Centre, St. Andrews Stadium

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours per week (with overtime available)

Closing Date: Rolling basis


  • Maintain training pitches to high standards, ensuring playability in all conditions.
  • Assist with weather-related preparations for training.
  • Maintain groundskeeping equipment and associated facilities.
  • Ensure safety and aesthetics of surrounding areas.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.
  • Assist in pitch rotation coordination.
  • Weekend work required to prepare pitches for matches and training.



  • NVQ2 or equivalent in Turf Maintenance.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sports turf or horticulture.
  • Proven track record as a Groundskeeper.
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends.
  • Valid driving license required.
  • Strong communication skills and teamwork ethic.



  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • 20 days annual leave (increasing with service).
  • 6-month probation period.
